Blå fluoritt er en variant av mineralet fluoritt,
med kjemisk sammensetning CaF₂ (kalsiumfluorid).
Mineralet kjennetegnes av blå til blåfiolette fargetoner
og kan variere fra transparent til mer gjennomskinnelig struktur.
Fluoritt danner ofte kubiske eller massive krystallstrukturer
og har en glassaktig glans når overflaten er slipt eller polert.
Fargen skyldes naturlige kjemiske variasjoner og sporstoffer
i krystallstrukturen.
Mineralet har en hardhet på ca. 4 på Mohs skala, noe
som gjør det relativt mykere enn mange andre dekor- og
smykkesteiner. Fluoritt bør derfor behandles med forsiktighet
for å redusere risiko for riper og slitasje.
Naturlige variasjoner i fargeintensitet, transparens og mønster
forekommer, og hvert stykke har sitt eget uttrykk.

Mineralet er meget utbredt, særlig på ganger og
sprekker i granitter og deres kontaktsoner.
Fluoritt har blitt funnet flere steder i Norge,
som Kongsberg og Telemark.
