Naturlig regnbue månestein i rå form, med lyse hvite, kremfargede og grålige nyanser kombinert med mørkere mineralinnslag. Enkelte partier kan vise et blålig eller flerfarget lysspill når steinen treffes av lys fra riktig vinkel.

Steinene er uslipte og beholder sin naturlige form og struktur. Farge, fasong, mørke innslag og graden av synlig fargespill varierer fra eksemplar til eksemplar, slik at hver råstein får sitt eget særpreg.

Naturlige sprekker, kløvflater, groper og ujevne partier kan forekomme og er en del av mineralets naturlige karakter. Passer fint som mineralprøve, samleobjekt eller dekorativ råstein.

Merk: Fargespillet varierer naturlig og er ikke nødvendigvis synlig på alle sider eller under alle lysforhold.

Geologisk

Det som kommersielt kalles regnbue månestein er vanligvis en lys variant av labradoritt, som tilhører feltspatgruppen. Det karakteristiske blålige eller flerfargede lysspillet oppstår når lys reflekteres og brytes i mineralets indre lag og strukturer.

Natural rainbow moonstone in its raw form, featuring pale white, cream and grey tones combined with darker mineral inclusions. Some areas may display a blue or multicoloured optical flash when the stone catches the light from the right angle.

The stones are unpolished and retain their natural shape and structure. Colour, shape, dark inclusions and the amount of visible flash vary from specimen to specimen, giving every piece its own individual character.

Natural fractures, cleavage planes, pits and irregular areas may occur and are part of the mineral’s natural appearance. Suitable as a mineral specimen, collectible or decorative raw stone.

Geological Information

The material commercially known as rainbow moonstone is generally a light-coloured variety of labradorite belonging to the feldspar group. Its characteristic blue or multicoloured optical effect is produced as light interacts with internal layers and structures within the mineral.
