Mookait er en type jaspis, som tilhører
gruppen mikrokrystallinsk kvarts (SiO₂).
Den kjennetegnes av et variert fargespill
i jordtoner, ofte med kombinasjoner av rødt,
gult, beige, brun og kremfarget.
Fargene skyldes innhold av mineraler og
jernforbindelser som har blitt inkorporert
under dannelsen.
Hematitt er et jernoksid-mineral med
kjemisk formel Fe₂O₃ og tilhører
oksidgruppen. Mineralet har trigonal
krystallstruktur og en hardhet på ca.
5–6 på Mohs skala. Navnet stammer
fra mineralets karakteristiske rødbrune streiffarge.
Naturlige variasjoner i farge, glans og
overflatestruktur er normalt for dette materialet.

Mookaite is a type of jasper, which belongs to the
group of microcrystalline quartz (SiO₂).
It is characterized by a varied play of colors
in earth tones, often with combinations of red,
yellow, beige, brown and cream.
The colors are due to the content of minerals and
iron compounds that have been incorporated
during formation.
Hematite is an iron oxide mineral with
the chemical formula Fe₂O₃ and belongs to the
oxide group. The mineral has a trigonal
crystal structure and a hardness of approximately
5–6 on the Mohs scale. The name comes
from the mineral's characteristic reddish-brown streak color.
Natural variations in color, gloss and surface texture
are normal for this material.
